Indulge in the Forgotten Greats of the Harlem Renaissance, Live
Experience the long-lost theatrical geniuses of the Harlem Renaissance as the Langston Hughes community Library presents a special onstage event! “Songs of the Harlem River,” a one-of-a-kind presentation from the Xoregoes Performing company, will be performed live for an afternoon of thought-provoking and entertaining theater.
This riveting showcase brings the stories and shows of overlooked playwrights to the stage, many of whom have never been performed to widespread audiences. All of the one-act plays on display at this event were written by artists from the Harlem Renaissance, a time of great literary and academic growth in the African-American community. Xoregos Performance Company presents these forgotten one-act treasures, believed to have never been professionally produced outside of community theater until now, that depict African-American life in the 1920s and '30s. It’s sure to be a special performance, so don’t miss the show at the Langston Hughes Community Library!
B' nai B'rith Queens Apartments, an extraordinary blend of comfortable and convenient apartments in Flushing, New York, would like to remind our friends and neighbors of this event!
