Let Us See Your Best Jazz Hands at the Friday Fest Concert Series
Debbie McClain, owner of Sankofa Aban Bed and Breakfast is seeking to revive the local jazz scene of the past, along with partner Eric Lemons. The restored 1800s Victorian Brownstone building in a Landmarked Historical District of Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn presents a walk in salon style acoustic sound room concert series that offers a fish fry buffet. The feel of being in your own home with your shoes off, with an authentic jazz vibe.
Imagine retreating back to a different time and spend the evening in an intimate setting. Experience the enjoyment of live Jazz Concert, a Southern Fish Fry Buffet, and Open Mic that will delight your palette.
Bedford Stuyvesant had the largest Jazz neighborhood in Brooklyn which held many venues that housed jazz greats like Thelonius Monk, Randy Weston, Miles Davis, Max Roach, Hank Mobley and others. All eventually changed, and jazz club fizzled out in favor of a different generation of music.
No bells, whistles or amps. This is Salon Jazz: intimate, classic, acoustic concerts plain and simple every Friday and Saturday night.
You're invited to a magical evening of music as Debbie and Eric takes you behind the scene of this undercover jazz venue. You can get there early to meet the performers, and as you take a seat for a jazz fest experience of a lifetime. Included in your evening will be a traditional Southern fish fry buffet. Cooked on site in a traditional way.
At B’nai B’rith Queens Apartments in Flushing, New York, it is clear that we have it all, but we still feel obliged to inform you of all the events our community has scheduled. Please feel free to join in all of the fun at this event!
